Project: Driscoll Drive

Before

After

What a view and what a challenge. The original home built during the Second World War sat on a hill with a commanding westerly view of an 80 acre private lake. During the years the original pine trees planted along the front of the house had grown to twenty feet or more blocking the lakeside view. Wee moved these, 12 in all to the east side of the house on both sides of the circular drive leading to the home. Challenge two, against our advice the owners wanted to stay in the house during the renovation. We begin by taking off the second floor and placing a double layer of tarps down over the complete lower level than built the new second floor and roof right on top. When we were framed and water tight we cut out the tarps and continued with the completion of the new addition and the existing house. We moved the family to the upper level and addition and completed the renovation to the existing lower level. Ten months later with all relationships still intact the home was completed and the total of integration of all spaces seamless.
